ExCulture emerged triumphant on May 15th 2023, as winners of the Innovator League in the prestigious Philips Innovation Award, securing a prize worth €50,000. ExCulture began the trajectory of the Philips Innovation Award in late 2022, covering business plan development, expert feedback sessions and investor engagements. It was also a wonderful platform for ExCulture to refine and practice pitching to multiple and varied audiences. The culmination of this journey took place at Theater Rotterdam, where ExCulture competed against other promising startups; Heliostrome, Innoflex, Fabulous Fungi and Weco. Each startup pitched to and addressed the challenging questions of the panel of notable jury members; Roy Jakobs (Chairman of the Jury, CEO Philips), Eline van Beest (CEO Hybridize Therapeutics), Robert Verwaayen (Founding Partner Keen Venture), Janneke Niessen (Founding Partner CapitalT), Alexandra Jankovich (Co-founder and Managing Partner SparkOptimus), Mark de Lange (Founder and CEO Ace & Tate), and Shawn Harris (Founder Nature’s Pride).
